With the cooperation of the Blue Ash Police Department, Sirchie is offering its Introduction to the Science of Fingerprints Course at the Blue Ash Fire Dept. (North Station), 10647 Kenwood Rd., Blue Ash, OH 45242 on October 21-25, 2024.
This course is designed to give individuals an introduction into the science of friction ridge skin as well as provide fundamental techniques for fingerprint analysis and how to utilize that information for comparison and identification. This course will serve as a foundation for those interested in pursuing forensics and fingerprint examination. Training is conducted through lectures, presentations, classroom demonstrations, discussions and practical exercises. Upon completion of the course the student will have acquired the basic knowledge and skills related to the terminology, history, physiology, as well as pattern recognition, analysis, and identification of friction ridge skin and latent prints.

Robert Baiada is a Detective with Springfield Township Police Department in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He has served as one of the County’s Latent Print Examiners since 2019. Robert specializes in Crime Scene Processing, Photography and Latent Print Development, for which he also instructs these areas for Montgomery County Police Academy.
