Off-Site Evidence Collection Course – Greenville Technical College, Greenville, SC July 26-29, 2010

In partnership with Greenville Technical College, Sirchie Fingerprint Laboratories is offering its comprehensive “hands-on” Evidence Collection Course on GTC’s campus in Greenville, South Carolina during the week of July 26-29, 2010.

This will be a Monday through Thursday course that covers state–of- the- art methods of identifying, collecting, evaluating, preserving and transporting physical evidence found at the scene of crime. The program is geared for “hands-on” use of equipment and materials necessary for a thorough and comprehensive evidence collection mission.

Curriculum:
*The Crime Scene Mission
*Fingerprint Theory
*Proper use and selection of latent fingerprint powders
* Locating and Processing Latent Prints – powders, chemicals and vapors.
*Introduction to Fingerprint Classification and Comparison
*Basic Photography and Crime Scene Sketching
* Crime Scene Safety and Contamination
*Identification and Collection of Physiological Fluids
* Narcotic and Controlled Substance ID
* Serial Number Restoration
* Gunpowder and Primer Residue Collection
* Tire, Footprint and Tool mark Casting

Enrollment will be limited to 24 students and all materials, supplies and equipment will be supplied by Sirchie. The cost per student will be $600.00
